Un match moyen mais avec une victoire méritée de la RFA qui a manqué souvent de réalisme devant le but. La Roumanie a commencé à jouer en seconde mi-temps mais en montrant trop de lacunes techniques. Du côté de la RFA, on sent beaucoup de suffisance ce qui va lui jouer des tours. Très bonne ambiance impulsée par les klaxons Ouest-allemands et Harald Schumacher ne méritait pas ces sifflets de la part des spectateurs français. Il faut savoir passer à autre chose...
