There isn't ever any love lost when these two nations cross paths, but from 88-92 Holland and West Germany (Germany) played a number of times with a real dislike for each other clearly evident. Ronald Koeman lit the fuse at the end of the Euro 88 S/F in Hamburg, where at the end of the game he mockingly wiped his backside with a German jersey which prompted the DFB to not allow German players to swap jerseys with the Dutch in future matches. The hatred between the Dutch and Germans boiled over in Milan at WC 90 when Voller and Rijkaard were both sent off during a fierce rd. of 16 clash.
