La primera parte es muy igualada, aunque la balanza se inclina por la calidad de los hermanos Laudrup, sobre todo Bryan en este partido. Penalty clarísimo por mano en el área yugoslava en el minuto 30, no pitado. A los 32 min de la segunda parte, golazo de Bazdarevic desde fuera del área. Jarni marca de cabeza el 0-2 tras pase de Vujovic por la derecha. Finalmente, tras un partido igualado donde destacaron los Laudrup y Bartrum (un jugador buenísimo que se tomó sabático la 91-92), Yugoslavia supo aprovechar dos jugadas para llevarse el partido y medio billete para Suecia 92.
